Join the University of Canterbury Club
Membership
All salaried members of the University are eligible to apply for membership as are the staff
of some institutions having close links with the University (such as: ESR, Forest Research Institute, Lincoln University, and the Christchurch Clinical School) and alumni of the University (restricted to no more than 100 alumnus).
Honorary membership is normally granted to short-term (less than six weeks) visitors to the University, particularly visiting Erskine Fellows and those attending conferences. Those staying longer, and not a member of a club with reciprocal membership, will need to join formally at the start of their visit for which the subscription will be prorata.
New members
The excellent facilities which the Club is able to provide should prove attractive to new staff members. New staff appointees are welcome to visit the Club before applying for membership. A full membership will ensure that the facilities will continue to be provided at very reasonable charges and that additional assets can be acquired from time to time to enhance still further the Club's attractiveness.
To join, download our application form (PDF, 190KB) or ask at the bar for a copy.
Visitors
Members are welcome to entertain visitors in the Club and to bring visitors to any of the Club's social functions. However, it should be noted that members of the staff of the University of Canterbury who choose not to join the Club are not eligible to attend the Club as visitors.
